Sweet post, Ken.
It's encouraged me to vacuum-seal some China Pre-Chingming Golden Pekoe so that my own descendants can worship me.
And like your Nana, I'll be on hand to exact my tribute if the first steep isn't poured away. Obviously a strong-willed lady, as I read in your other blog.

That's amazing Ken. So often things happen for a reason but may people often ignore or miss the signs rather than act on it. I am happy you acted on it. You've made your Nana proud. :)

Yes, I have to say this could bring tears to the eyes of anyone with a love for grandmothers. And I do have plenty of love, though I don't have a grand-mother any more. I was very touched, but I didn't shed tears. I got goose bumps instead. The first infusion spilled? There's no way that's "coincidence" is it. No, not a chance in h...oops, make that paradise.
Anyway, very mysterious. My bet is on "she could feel something."
Lovely post. Perhaps I should dab my eyes after all.

This was lovely. You made me cry. Well, you know, I do that more often than most, but it's still nice when I'm moved to tears by something.

I'm so glad you're getting to spend some time with your family, even though it had to happen under these circumstances.

My dad's mom passed away fifteen years ago. I miss her all the time. She was funny and sweet and caring and she got me, which is no easy task because I'm twisty. I feel like she knows I'm thinking of her, the days I am the most. I'm sure your grandmother knew you were yesterday as well.

Your tea for a horse? Though I think the exchange may be slightly difficult as I am sure the tea you are offering is the loose leaf kind and Tea Bags are the tea of choice for the "Sweet Tea" consumed in many southern towns. So if you are truly looking to make the exchange collect as many tea bags you can and mark them boutique tea made from a special blend only available from a European/Australian supplier that way both you and Sir Devotea can address the tea bag issue.
Jackie, have you not picked up on Lahikmajoe's "animal attraction"? Goats, Pigs, Wild Cows? just another species to add to the ever expanding list, Horses.
My question is how is Ella & Louis? Hope all is well miss them.

Why do you want a horse? It puzzled me. Then I realized you're not trying the convert the cowboy, no Texan worth his cattle will be fooled. No, you're working on that horse. Seeing if the fine beast will get to drinking tea. Lapsang Souchong might indeed be worth a try. Wonder what other teas go well with horse. Live ones I mean.

I'm very excited you're going to have a horse. Can I name it? You're going to be an excellent horseman. A bandido, even, maybe. Yee-haw!

Also, I think you have a secret calling as a playwright. Why have you been hiding this talent under a bushel? Hurry up, you've only got 7 months to submit your one-act to our competition. Oh, you have to live in the Capital District. So you'll also have to move to NY. Time's a'wastin'!

Yeah, it starts out all well and good until someone slips that guy some chamomile calling it tea and once he wakes up from his nap, tosses back a cup of of thick black joe and starts thinking, "Where's that damn tea bandit? This is his fault!"

He'll grab his rifle, gather the posse, and come after you like the hornswoggling horse thief that you actually are!

Pony up, pal! The posse's coming and they mean to take back their horse and a pound of flesh to boot!

In this case, it looks like my internet search wasn't very thorough. Jackie found much more than I did, and now I wish I'd been to all the teterías that I didn't even see.
